About Me? 

Before I discovered podcasting, my only focus was music. I loved creating things. Since I was a child, I dreamed of being a successful recording artist. By 2017 I had already charted on Billboard, amassed more than 6 million music streams, performed international shows, and built a strong social media presence with that blue check and all!

In 2018, everything changed. I found myself searching for identity, purpose, and self-worth.

Within a few months, we moved to a new state as my wife started her medical school journey. On top of that—and to our surprise—we were expecting our first child. I would need to put my music career on hold to become a stay-at-home dad. I went from, "about to blow up!" to blow-out diapers. I kept asking myself, "How can I be present and provide for my family while continuing to pursue my passions, purpose, and creativity?" 

The answer? Podcasting. When I first discovered podcasting, I fell in love. Me and my homie J (more about J in a bit) both wanted to create a dope podcast and share it with hundreds of thousands of listeners. And we did! Kinda… We created the podcast, but it did not reach thousands of listeners. It didn't even reach hundreds of listeners. After countless hours of researching, recording, editing, and uploading all for only a few people to hear it (shout out to those three people). We were frustrated, lost, and weren’t really sure what we were doing wrong. 

Then, everything changed. After two unsuccessful attempts, we were finally accepted—out of thousands of applications from 120 countries—as top creators and were invited to participate in the “Google Podcast Creative Program.” What do they say again… third time’s the charm? Our tenacity, hard work, and never-give-up attitude finally, finally paid off.

I can’t even tell you how amazing this program was. They taught us so much stuff about podcasting—everything from how to develop your podcast idea, create your podcast, market it, grow listeners, and monetize it.
